Social action and service are emphasized in this Circle. The activities scheduled are meant to put our faith into action. Faith Circle members have served meals at shelters, made sandwiches for the homeless, put together personal care kits, stamped cards for soldiers and made pies to raise funds for mission. Meetings are scheduled at various times throughout the year, depending on the activity or event. Contact: Paulette Malecek, 952-844-0939
A study oriented group, this Circle uses a Christian book to guide them in discussion and application of God’s word to their lives. Christian fellowship and support are added benefits. This Circle meets the first Friday of each month at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Contact: Patsy Wright,952-831-4426.
The primary focus of this group is service to the church Typical projects include making silk flowers for new members, embroidering baptismal clothes and helping with church mailings. This Circle meets on an “as needed” basis. Contact: Marilyn Brown, 952-831-0597.
Thursday Morning Bible Study
This group, led by NHUMC’s Visitation Pastor Otis Borop, meets weekly during the school year on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
This group offers a time for women to socialize and to take time from their busy schedules to work on individual craft projects. It meets monthly on a Friday evening at the church. Dates and times are publicized in the bulletin and Hylander.
UMW Reading Program
If you love to read and want to be challenged by what you read, then the UMW Reading Program will be a perfect fit. The purpose of the Reading Program is:
- to expand understanding of social issues facing humanity today,
- to increase sensitivity to the needs, interests and concerns of all human beings,
- to enhance self-knowledge and to act from that knowledge and
- to strengthen involvement in Christian mission.
Books that are part of the program along with information about the Reading Program can be found on the UMW Reading Program bookcase in the church library.
